Video Game Design  

Learn to create a fun simple 2d sidescroller/platformer video game.


It’s often difficult to learn a complex skill such as programming when building dry and boring applications but by using video games as a fun objective, and an easy to learn interactive software, coding becomes a lot more enjoyable experience.

Programming skills and programming software are common place in today’s world, but with the increase in robotic integration in industry, the need for skilled people to programming these autonomous systems will become even greater.



Topics include:
  • Learn what an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is
  • Learn how IDEs are used in all industries
  • Creating sprites (the characters and features of your game)
  • Connecting your sprites to actions and keys
  • Adding code to change behaviors
  • Program collision events (Like when a character touches a wall or a projectile touches a character)
