Integrated Design

5 Credits

Integrated Design - CATIA 3D Engineering Design

Dassault Systemes CATIA 3D design environment has several different sections called Workbenches that are dedicated to highly specialized tasks, such as solid modeling, surface design, stress analysis and assembly. Rather than teach each of these separately, in this redesigned instructional methodology, Integrated Design shows you how to use all the major workbenches together right from the beginning.

The integration continues with the use of shop equipment and hand tools to produce real products and tangibly understanding the "Designing for Manufacturing" ideal. Many products will manufactured in class by way of CNC machining, composite and polymer mold making and 3D printing.
